Valerie Anastasio: financial sector acumen for advancement professionals

Advancement teams are rightly focused on the affluent donor. Those relationships carry the dollars that turn aspirational missions into bold action.

But something has shifted. The wealth itself is changing: how it’s created, how it’s structured, and how it’s paced when given.

Have our offices evolved, in mindset and in practice, to keep up?

That’s the question I help answer. I work with advancement leaders and relational fundraising professionals, to

  • refine their instincts about the financial elite
  • operationalize that understanding into how they measure success, and
  • align the prospect development practice underneath it

Services

Three ways to work together

01

High finance for development professionals

Clear, jargon-free training that gives fundraising professionals fluency in how financial-sector wealth is created and compensated — private equity, hedge funds, venture capital, capital markets, wealth and asset management, and executive pay — and how to turn that intelligence into actionable donor strategy.

02

Prospect development practice building

Prospect management, data governance, CRM adoption, reporting frameworks. Practical, durable workflows that acknowledge constraints and are “fit for purpose.”

03

Executive advisory and interim leadership

Counsel on campaign readiness and gift tables, $10M+ solicitation strategy, reputational risk and due diligence, and the practical integration of AI tools into research and pipeline work.
